A little history......

South Pacific Troopers ([SPT], or [SPT-] in KZ2) was originally founded by Fixity, on the release of KZ2 in Australia on 26 Feb 2009. It's a primarily NZ/Australian clan, with a few specially selected Brits, and the idea is to have a bit of fun while still being competitive. SPT has played a number of competitive games in KZ2, SOCOM, MW2, MAG and BFBC2 as well as casual games in more games than you can poke a stick at, including Red Faction : Guerilla, Resistance 2, CoD:W@W, CoD4, Uncharted 2, Burnout Paradise, GT5, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, and Skate 3. Our latest additions to the lineup (SOCOM:Special Forces and Operation Flashpoint:Red River) have been greatly anticipated, and we're hoping to get a lot of enjoyment from them.

SPT played its first clan war against Dane75's crew from cXc on the 21st of March 2009. Around this time, it formed it's SOCOM squad, which played its first clan war against Damage Plan's LTR on the 4th of April.

SPT Code Of Conduct

The South Pacific Troopers [SPT] have earned a reputation as a great clan to war with, and are gracious in victory and defeat. The SPT strongly believe in good sportsmanship, victory is its own reward and we play for the fun of the game rather than to beat up on other clans. There's no room on our team for a player who wants to rub it in the face of the losing team. All opponents should be honoured for their performance and congratulated on a win, and never ridiculed for a loss. SPT do not wish to be represented in this way and will not tolerate such behaviour. We do not condone cheating of any kind; any member of our team who uses a cheat device or glitches to ensure victory will be kicked from the clan, no second chances. Teamwork is paramount to the success and camaraderie we share. Members of the SPT display dignity and respect to our opponents (and each other). This is true in victory and defeat. Should you receive an invitation to the SPT, keep in mind that it was offered in the trust that you strive to uphold these ideals.

It's also important to recognise that SPT are made up of a mix of gamers, from some with jobs or study commitments who game once or twice a week to those who game every day without fail. In SPT, each is as good as the other, as long as they communicate clearly with the clan (ie, if you have to take some time off, be it for work, study, family or an overseas trip, no worries, but let us know so we can make sure we've still got enough players in the squad for the games that you play) - SPT members would be expected to be in touch with the clan via the forums at least every couple of weeks, and preferably more often. Members have to be happy with communicating via the SPT forums, as this is how we organise our games (and pretty much everything else).

And if you see someone who is new to the game you are playing or having a hard time, give them a helping hand and don't sledge them for being a noob. We'll have more fun if others out there are having more fun, and yesterday's noob is tomorrows opposition in a clan war.
